Houma Indian Artist Ivy Billiot is well known for his wonderful carvings that are hand painted in a spirited manner. His repetoire includes many fish, birds, and animals familiar to him as a member of the Houma Indian tribe, as well as icons such as cowboys, mermaids, and devils. He creates his carvings out of Tupolo Gum wood, a local material. All carvings are hand carved and hand painted by Ivy Billiot and so sizes and colors may vary.
